There is all this hootenanny about millennials (or Generation Y or iY) in the workplace. I am one. I’m the only one in my office. Many managers in the age groups of baby-boomers and older are curious about us. They try to understand us as we walk into the front doors of their operations and reality sets in. There is not a whole lot out there on how we millennials can understand our older co-workers.
Advice of the day to my fellow millennials:
Choose to laugh despite barriers brought about by age difference.
Let communication and technological frustrations role off your shoulders, and laugh.
Laugh with them, not at them.
Always consider their advice and/or reasoning, even it if makes you laugh.
